Since I was a little girl, I have been drawing. Not always on paper, much to my parents dismay (my bedroom wall was a bit of a disgrace!).
I began to sell my work when I was a teenager, holding exhibitions and taking commissions. My style has developed and grown with me over the last 15 years, although my goals are still fundamentally the same - to produce exciting, dynamic art work and sell my designs to fab people. My work is inspired by awesome women, medieval art, tattoo design, folk tales and urban culture. Oh, and tea & biscuits!
Most of my work is created using inks and watercolours, hand-drawn with any finishing touches added digitally. I have also recently started exploring the world of lino-cut prints which I absolutely love, hand-carving and printing designs and patterns.
I hope you enjoy looking through my work and you like it enough to purchase a few bits. If you'd like to chat to me about anything, just email on on hello [!at] ruthjoyce.com Read More
